April Johnson, for Brides and Grooms 2011

historic_ravalliCelebrating 100 years of Mansion Memories, The Daly Mansion Preservation Trust invites couples to begin their wedded memories on the grounds of the Daly Mansion.  The Georgian Revival home was designed by famed architect A.J. Gibson for Margaret Daly, the widow of Copper King Marcus Daly, and was completed in the summer of 1910.  The Mansion is owned by the state of Montana and operated by The Daly Mansion Preservation Trust, a Bitterroot Valley non-profit organization whose mission is to restore and protect this Montana treasure.

Located between Hamilton and Corvallis and nestled between the Sapphire and Bitterroot mountains, brides and grooms have said their vows amongst the towering 100 year old trees for the past several years.  It is quite appropriate that people today celebrate romance on the grounds of the Margaret Daly Memorial Aboretum and Botanic Gardens, since Mr. & Mrs. Daly were truly a love story.  Mrs. Daly literally fell into Mr. Daly’s arms while Marcus was inspecting a mine.  After that meeting, they enjoyed many years of wedded bliss.   One can still imagine the Dalys strolling their expansive lawns and gardens hand in hand.

Considered one of the most photographed locations in the Bitterroot Valley, the gardens, trees and vast southern-style porches provide the perfect back drop.

Brides and grooms ready themselves for their big moment inside the Mansion while caterers and florists busy themselves prepping for reception parties in the 40x100 tent.  Carriages and antique cars are welcome and are popular among many brides and grooms.
